Dibër

Dibër is a mountainous region of eastern Albania along the border with North Macedonia, centred on the valley of the Black Drin. Its main town, Peshkopi, is the capital of Dibër County and a busy market town spread over a green hillside above the valley.

About Dibër

The region is home to Albania's highest mountain, Mount Korab (2,764 m), protected within the Korab-Koritnik Nature Park, and to the glacial Lura Lakes in the Lurë-Mali i Dejës National Park. Remote villages such as Radomirë are starting points for mountain hikes, and the wider area is known for its strong highland traditions.

Just outside Peshkopi are the thermal baths of Peshkopi (Llixhat e Peshkopisë), sulphurous hot springs that have been used for bathing and treatments for generations. Peshkopi is the practical base for exploring Dibër, with hotels, restaurants and road links to Tirana via Bulqizë and across the border to North Macedonia.
