Dajti National Park

Dajti National Park protects the mountain massif that rises directly east of Tirana, topping out at 1,613 metres. First protected in 1966, the park spans dense oak and beech forest, upland meadows and rocky peaks, and is home to wildlife such as wild boar, foxes and wolves. Its sweeping views have earned the mountain the nickname “the Balcony of Tirana”.

About Dajti National Park

The easiest way up is the Dajti Ekspres cable car, which climbs about 4.7 km from the edge of the city to the Llarka plateau in roughly 15 minutes. At the top, visitors can walk forest trails, try the adventure park, go horse riding or settle into a traditional restaurant with the whole city spread out below.

The wider park also takes in sights such as Bovilla Lake and Pëllumbas Cave, making it a natural escape just minutes from the capital.
