Maċedonja ta’ Fuq: Tour ta’ Jum f’Ohrid u Saint Naum

Yesterday we went on a tour from Tirana to the city of Ohrid in North Macedonia. It was a wonderful and very comfortable experience, with an amazing guide named Anest. He was extremely attentive and answered all of our questions. We really appreciated how well-planned and thoughtfully designed the route was, down to every detail.

The views of Lake Ohrid and the surrounding mountains were especially breathtaking. We traveled all the way around the lake, both on the Albanian and Macedonian sides. On the way back, we also visited the Monastery of Saint Naum, which has an impressive history and a truly special atmosphere.

We absolutely loved the tour and would give it more than 5 stars if that were possible 😁🌟

Beautiful day trip to North Macedonia from Tirana. 10/10 would highly recommend this trip. The spots covered during this trip are really very good and picturesque. Our guide Sokol was really helpful and informative and helped us wherever he could. Had a great time during this trip altogether!!

A very relaxed itinerary, the lake was very beautiful and Ohrid was a charming town. the transportation could have been better, one of the doors was broken. Unfortunately, we couldn’t go to St Naum because of the snow.

Great trip from Tirana, Albania to Ohrid, North Macedonia. Ohrid is very pretty with plenty of interesting history. Nolan was a very knowledgeable guide and ensured we had enough time throughout the day to stop for food, photos, rest and souvenirs. There were only two of us, but Nolan still went ahead with a private tour which was much appreciated. Would highly recommend booking this tour.

Our guide and driver were the same person, and I am grateful for his efforts in making our day enjoyable. It seemed like he might have been a bit tired, which could have affected the overall experience. Despite this, the lake and city are stunning, and we had plenty of free time to explore the city.

Really enjoyed this day trip around Lake Ohrid. It was a long drive but the scenery, once up in the mountains, was absolutely worth it. The highlight for me was lunch on the lake as we were very fortunate to have gorgeous weather. There is a lot of walking up hills, so make sure you are physically able to do that.

We had an excellent day in North Macedonia, travelling in from Tirana. We were picked up bang on time, the minibus was comfortable and no issues travelling in. Ohrid was lovely, a real change of pace from Tirana with some incredible history to see and hear about from our knowledgeable local tour guide, Ivana. On the the Bay of Bones which due to the time of year, wasn’t open which was a shame but we were here in December. the Monastery was interesting too with an equally good view of the lake. Thanks to Nolan for taking us there and being ain interesting and informative guide. We’re already thinking about visiting Ohrid again!

Nolan was a great guide. The whole tour was very well organized and every stop had enough time for visiting. I especially enjoyed the guided tour of Ohrid, very interesting and the guide was excellent.

Anest is a very knowledgeable and genuine guide (and driver!) who navigated tough situations well and was able to hold any kinds of conversations with people. He is very passionate about his job and anybody on his tour would be very lucky and well taken care of.

It was a pleasant day in Ohrid with suberp views of the lake thanks to our guide Anest who was always ready to answer any questions and also the local guide was very knowledgeable I would thank her too and the driver of course who ensured our safety on the roads. I would recommend this trip to those who are staying in Tiran more than 3 4 days and who would like to have a flavor of a neighbor country. Day started with bus issues related to leaking air conditioner. It took a while to sort out but we were quickly back on track. Our guide Anest was professional throughout, very informative and willing to answer all questions and share his knowledge. The guide in Ohrid was equally professional and informative We had to divert on the way home due to heavy traffic, again it was very well handled by Anest. I would recommend the trip to Ohrid and our guide Anest.

Excellent trip overall. The drive was long, but we knew that, and the van was comfortable, and the driver very safe. He stopped whenever we asked. Collection and drop off easy. The guide was very helpful and knowledgeable – he clearly really enjoys his job and that showed. Great walking tour, along a route I would never have found for myself. He was considerate to all guests, making sure we didn’t go too fast. Very interesting stories and good recommendations for lunch. Highly commendable guide all round

The bus was comfortable and air conditioned. My boyfriend and I are quite tall and we found it had a comfortable amount of leg room! We made multiple stops for loo breaks and for snacks.

The tour guide in North Macedonia spoke good English and had a very good knowledge of the history and general knowledge of the area which was very interesting to listen to. She gave a list of recommendations where to find good food and local gifts.

The lake was absolutely stunning !!! Amazing over/on water restaurants and the waitress was very kind and friendly. The water was crystal clear and blue!

Overall this trip was unbelievable!!! So happy we did this!!

Absolutely Amazing Tour and Guide!

This tour was beyond incredible! Everything was so well organized, informative, and full of energy. Our guide Henry was simply outstanding, knowledgeable, funny, and genuinely passionate about what he does. You could really feel his love for the place and his desire to make sure everyone had the best possible experience.

Every stop was breathtaking, and we learned so much while having a fantastic time. It wasn’t just a tour – it was a truly unforgettable experience filled with great stories, laughter, and wonderful memories.

I think it’s a very practical way to visit North Macedonia if you don’t have much time, the transport was super confortable and the guide was very nice. The only suggestion I have is that the walking tour should end by the St Jovan church so who wants to enjoy some of the free time over there have that possibility, since is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen and I would love to have more time for pictures there.

The guide Ramadan was a sweet gentleman. Ohrid walking tour was also good. Ohrid was charming. The drive is quite long and border control takes quite some time! But overall good tour.

This day tour was great! Our guide Noli was very cool and informative. The coach was comfortable and Macedonia was beautiful. We were stuck in traffic getting back into Tirana but not their fault obviously. Would definitely recommend. PS make sure you have a visa if needed!! Some people were not able to get in Macedonia and had to leave the bus.

It was well organized, pick-up very smooth. There was even a guided tour at the Ohrid Old Town. All the places were breathtakingly beautiful, I just wish we could have stayed a bit longer but traffic back to Tirana was bad, I completely understand.

It saves time for shopping. ☺️ The Macedonian ruby is definitely a must-buy souvenir! The Monastery of Saint Naum was another serene stop, perfect for those seeking a calm, nature-filled escape. Travelled as a party of 3.

We were met on time at designated place. We asked for the front seats of mini bus as 2 of the party are quite tall. This was accommodated for us. The driver took care with his driving and we felt safe all the time.

Nolan our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and pointed out interesting things on the way.

It is a long day but worth it.

The trip was exactly what was promised on the itinerary. The trip was very well organised and Nolan was very friendly throughout and made sure we all had a good time. The drive to Orhid is long however the views more than make up for it and Nolan provides information when passing certain points which was informative. Phillip, the guide in Macedonia was excellent also – it was a very scenic tour around the town. I am very glad I booked this trip, it was one of the highlights of my holiday. It is worth taking euros as you can get the boat from the last stop on the guided tour in Orhid back to the starting point which was 5 euros and also it was 3 euros if you wanted to go into Saint Naum however I thought it was beautiful just walking around the grounds itself. It was a long dat trip starting from 630am at the meeting point till almost 7pm. Lake ohrid is beautiful town and Nolan our guide is helpful in arranging the transportation, our immigration pasport checks and explaning the history of the places. It was a good trip and i enjoyed it. Thank you so much. Philip the local guide in Lake ohrid is also informative and helpful in suggesting places where to eat and shop. Overall i enjoyed it. I joined the day trip to Ohrid, Macedonia, and it was perfectly organized! Our main guide, Nolan, was super friendly and shared great tips along the way. After reaching Ohrid, we had a local guide who was very knowledgeable and fun, making the visit even better. We got enough time at every stop, and the border crossing went smoothly since the guide handled all the customs. Overall, a well-planned and enjoyable trip, truly worth it!

We had a great day out to Lake Ohrid. Beautiful place and good to learn about the history as well as enjoy the scenery. The drive was lovely with some good photo stops. It was listed as having WiFi on the bus which wasn’t available which was probably a good thing as made us focus on enjoying the journey. Noli was helpful and friendly.

Leuk uitstapje om even uit Tirana te ontsnappen. Nadeel dat er vaak kort tijd is om de dingen te bekijken. Verder wel goed georganiseerd. Houdt er wel rekening mee dat het een lange dag is.

It was a wonderful day in Ohrid and Saint-Maur monastry ! It is magnificient places, it deserve to be see once a life.

I advise to anybody on holiday in Tirana, to make that tour with Albania Inbound. The bus was confortable for the day trip.

Nolan was a perfect guide. He gives good informations about the places visited, and instructions for the group was clear.

The trip was very fun and well organised. Everything was very clearly communicated. The tour of Ohrid was beautiful but did feel quite rushed as we only had 2.5 hours there. Transportation on the way back l was disrupted by traffic but Nolan, the tour guide, was very helpful and walked us to the taxi he’d arranged for us – he went above and beyond.

I appreciated the hotel pick-up that was very convenient. Nolan and Phillip were great guides and knowledgeable. In terms of experience, it can potentially be enhanced with onboard wifi, charging ports and simple refreshments like chilled water. Otherwise the experience was absolutely great and money well spent.

Loved everything about historically rich informative tour to Macedonia. Our guide Nolan was amazing he kept us laughing while we were stuck in some unusually back logged traffic. His guidance to keep the group together and informed was on point. The Macedonia guide Stephen was awesome too. Passionately enjoys his job and vividly paints pictures in your mind to help imagine what early days would’ve looked like. Wonderful day trip from Tirana to North Macedonia. Great way to see another country! Ohrid is so beautiful. Of note there is some walking involved. We had someone in our group that struggled with hills in town. Our guide tailored the tour for them so we had to break away to see more including Samuel Fortress with limited time we had but this worked out ok because we had some free time at that stop. Border crossing was easy. It was a stunning trip and well worth it! Would highly recommend!

Our guide was Nolan and our driver was Besim and they were both so lovely. They made sure everything ran smoothly and we were able to see so much in the time we were there. We also had a guide called Martina who gave us a walking tour of Ohrid which was amazing as we were able to see all the important points and learn the history. I highly recommend this tour and would definitely book again!

This trip was really fun. Well organised and got to see some truly beautiful sights. I really loved Ohrid and also the lake at the monastery stop. I only wish there was more time to relax at the lake near the monastery as the water was so beautiful and inviting.

Had a fantastic day. We had the nightmare of booking with another tour company the day before and it turned out to be a scam. They took us to the border and then told us they hadn’t got the right documents to cross the border and kept the money we paid. This tour however was amazing. Nolan was informative and helpful. The driver was incredible and getting the bus to Ohrid safely. The tour guide in Ohrid was lovely and knowledgeable and the city of Ohrid was one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. If you want to go, book with this company.

Such an amazing trip to Ohrid from Tirana today! Nolan was fantastic as a guide and helped transportation and the tour go smoothly which allowed me to truly relax amd enjoy the beauty of Ohrid!

I could not have imagined better ! 100% recommend Some stops were short (as said in the info) but the guides Anest and Martina always made sure we could do and see everything we wanted. They were the nicest and kindest persons you could hope for, and they shared so much about their cultures and history (Macedonia for Martina, Albania for Anest). The Ohrid tour was about 1 hour and 1,5/2 hours for the free time. The tour with Martina felt like walking around with a new friend. We left right on time, the drive is approximatively 3 hours depending on the traffic and the border. You need to make absolutely sure that you have the appropriate documents to go into North Macedonia according to your nationality : one of the guests was stuck at the border, even though Anest did absolutely everything he could to find a solution and tried to help him find transportation back (which he didn’t have to do according to the info). Bonus point : Anest might be the smoothest driver in all Albania !

Our Albanian guide Anest was amazing, he is responsible, kind and calm, gave us good time to explore during the whole tour and shared a lot about Albania on the way back. The local guide M is very sweet and showed us around Ohrid. It is such a great city, we were all considering coming back to it for more days! The lake gives peace to all viewers.

Couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide! Henri was fabulous and handled everything with professionalism. There was an accident on the main highway going back to Tirana and due to the delay, he went the extra mile to ensure the safety and wellbeing of each participant, he arranged and paid everyone’s taxi back home. The tour itself was well organized and well worth the money, the views were breathtaking!! (minus the national park, felt more like a petting zoo – but by then we were all ready to go home so it was a nice toilet break). Henri was very attentive to all the participants of the tour, answering promptly and courteously, just for Henri, my parents and I would do the tour all over again.

Also, the bus driver was very friendly and safe with the crazy driving of Albania. The bus accommodations were top notch! New and clean.

I have been wanting to go to North Macedonia ever since seeing the Microsoft screensaver of the Church of St. John at Kaneo, and honestly, I had no idea that yesterday’s visit would lead to visiting that site, so I was overwhelmed with joy at climbing that hill, then seeing it. Ohrid was such a pretty city, and I definitely need to return and spend more time there. I highly recommend this tour and I hope you get guides as great as Nolan and Martina.

Noli is an outstanding tour guide! His communication was excellent from start to finish—clear, organized, and caring. He coordinated my transportation so smoothly, kept us informed at every stop, and made sure everyone had time to explore and enjoy. What impressed me most was how he personally ensured I got safely back to my hotel, even following up afterward. I especially enjoyed walking around the city of Ohrid, learning its history, and meeting some of the locals—it was the highlight of the day. The only improvement I’d suggest is that the van be given a good wash and the windows and windshield cleaned inside and out, so the ride feels fresher and the views are even better.

Beautiful scenery but overall bad experience because of poor communication and planning. Group was 30% more people than advertised (25 instead of 19). Yes, we had a more comfortable bus, but more people meant everything took longer. Less space to hear the guides talk; many people weren’t able to see the paper making demonstration. Crossing the border took about 30 min of sitting in the bus, each way.

Guide messaged me at 20:20 the night before with pickup time, which was 6:30am; some were picked up even earlier. Poor communication of pick up time (late night notification happened to others) didn’t allow time to plan for breakfast; morning stops we had didn’t offer anything nutritious.

No WiFi on the bus. My day between pick up and drop off was nearly 14 hours.

Our guide was wonderful. Very informative and knowledgeable. This trip was one of my favorites. It definitely was worth the money . The places we we t to we’re awesome

The tour was really good with a mix of history and free time to enjoy the city and what it can offers. And the guide were very good and helpful. Recommend it!

What an amazing day! Tony did an awesome job of navigating us safely to and from the various sites. And Nolan was a wealth of knowledge, sharing wonderful tidbits of information along the way. A jam-packed day, with the perfect amount of touring and “down” time. And lunch in Ohrid was incredible! Highly recommend this tour!

We had a great time visiting North Macedonia from Tirana on this tour. Nolan was a great tour guide. He provided us with ample information about the locations, gave us recommendations about coffee places, etc. Both Nolan and Sula (the driver), as well as the tour company (Albania inbound), were very hospitable. In fact, one of the travelers on our tour had difficulty finding our meeting point, and they ensured that she made it at our meeting point so as not to miss the tour. Definitely recommend this tour!

Henri is a great guide. He has a great sense of humour and made an effort to get to know each of us as it was a small group of 7 people. He made it feel more like a road trip with friends rather than a paid tour. There were some delays at the border due to high traffic but this is to be expected in August. Guide was so so helpful and tried to get me to the airport on time! The tour itself was really good and informative about history. Very knowledgeable and helpful in every way!! Timing should be made a bit clearer as seems so variable!
