Get picked up from your accommodation in Tirana and relax during the scenic drive to Apollonia. Set among gentle hills and picturesque olive groves, this ancient city was founded as a Greek colony in the 6th century BC and later became an important centre during the Roman period.
Discover Apollonia’s fascinating Greek, Roman, and medieval heritage as you explore its archaeological remains. Admire classical monuments including Doric columns, an obelisk, and the Gate of Temenos, along with the remarkably preserved medieval monastery complex.
Continue to Berat and explore the impressive Castle of Berat, originally built in the 13th century and shaped by Byzantine and Ottoman influences. Coach arrived on time, and prior to this everything was organised with a message prior to the tour with pick up details and a WhatsApp group for communication which is vital with a group of around 50 people. Clyde the tour host was amazing, his nuggets about the history of Albania, describing details of the castle and even why 1 in 3 cars in Albania are a Mercedes! This theory was even tested out with cars passing by and the first 2 were Mercs! Overall an enjoyable day and tour of Berat which is 100% worth a visit.

Fantastic day trip to Berat. Our guide Jeffrey was very knowledgeable about Albania and I learnt so much. He took great care of us - particularly with recommendations for lunch. Highly recommend this trip.
