Full description
Discover Tirana's highlights on an active and immersive bike tour led by a certified local expert. Starting in the heart of the city, we cycle through parks, boulevards, and historic neighbourhoods, making informative stops at each key site. This 3-hour experience offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and history, with short 5–10-minute stops at each location for explanations and insights. All visits are from the outside, and bikes and helmets are included.
We meet at Rruga Bardhok Biba, right next to Cafe Pappas.
New Bazaar (Pazari i Ri)
We then cycle to the lively New Bazaar, a vibrant area filled with local shops, fresh produce, cafés, and handmade souvenirs. Guests will have some free time to explore, shop, or enjoy a local snack.
Blloku neighbourhood – once restricted to Albania's communist elite, today it is one of the trendiest and liveliest parts of Tirana. After getting fitted with our bikes and helmets, we begin riding towards the greener side of the city.
Grand Park & Artificial Lake
Our first ride takes us into the Grand Park of Tirana, where we cycle around the peaceful Artificial Lake. Surrounded by pine trees and locals enjoying outdoor activities, this tranquil setting offers a refreshing start to the tour.
Martyrs' Boulevard & Mother Teresa Square
As we return to the city centre, we follow the grand Martyrs' Boulevard, stopping at Mother Teresa Square, home to the University of Tirana and several government institutions. The boulevard is lined with a mix of modern and socialist-era architecture.
Air Albania Stadium
Cycling further along the boulevard, we stop at the striking Air Albania Stadium, featuring a distinctive tower integrated into its structure. It has become one of the most recognizable symbols of Tirana's contemporary development and architectural transformation.
The Pyramid of Tirana
Our next stop is the iconic Pyramid of Tirana, originally built as a museum dedicated to communist leader Enver Hoxha. Today, it has been transformed into a modern space focused on technology, creativity, and culture, while remaining one of the city's most fascinating landmarks.
Vodafone Bridge to Tirana Castle
Crossing the Vodafone Bridge, we reach Tirana Castle (Kalaja e Tiranës). Here, we leave our bikes briefly to walk through the beautifully restored pedestrian area, home to artisan shops, cafés, restaurants, and traditional architectural elements.
Tanners' Bridge (Ura e Tabakëve)
A short ride from the castle brings us to Tanners' Bridge, a well-preserved Ottoman-era stone bridge. Once part of an old trade route, it offers a glimpse into Tirana's historic past and stands as a quiet reminder of the city's Ottoman heritage amid its modern surroundings.
