Kruja

Kruja, or Krujë, is a hilltop town north of Tirana known for Skanderbeg's castle and its old bazaar; these articles are guides to the town and area. Kruja was the stronghold of Albania's national hero in his wars against the Ottomans, and today the castle holds the Skanderbeg Museum. The posts include a guide to Kruje's history and culture, a route following Skanderbeg through Krujë, Lezhë and Tirana, and a list of authentic souvenirs to buy, many of them sold in the bazaar. Others look at Qafë Shtama, the pine forest above the town, Preza Castle near the airport, and a short Tirana itinerary.
