Above the beach, the old village of Dhërmi climbs the hillside in stone houses, narrow lanes and small churches, with wide views over the sea. The contrast between the traditional village and the summer beach life below is part of what makes the place special.
In summer the beach has sunbeds, beach bars and seafood restaurants, while the coves along the coast stay quieter. Swimming and snorkelling are excellent thanks to the clear water, and the coast road links Dhërmi easily with Jale, Gjipe and Himarë.
Coming down from the Llogara Pass, the first view of Dhërmi’s bay is one of the most memorable moments of any trip along the Riviera.
