Built in 1859, it was the first cast-iron bridge in Romania. Several legends explain its name: some say that young lovers met here and swore eternal love, which was not always true; others that merchants who cheated their customers were thrown off it; and the most popular claims that the bridge will creak or collapse if someone tells a lie while standing on it.
The bridge offers a pretty view over the Small Square, the Council Tower and the colourful houses with their "eyes", the small roof windows that seem to watch passers-by.
Stand on the bridge and tell the truth, then walk down the steps into the quiet streets of the Lower Town.
