The name comes from the goldsmiths, kujundžije, who worked here in Ottoman times, when the bazaar was the commercial heart of the town. Today the shops sell copperware, jewellery, embroidered textiles, paintings and souvenirs, and the street is one of the liveliest in Mostar. Its slippery cobbles, polished by centuries of footsteps, lead straight to the bridge.
Small cafés and restaurants with terraces overlooking the river offer views of the Old Bridge and the divers who jump from it in summer.
Watch your step on the smooth stones, and look out for engraved copper coffee sets, the classic Mostar souvenir.
