Albania Beaches

Albania beaches range from Riviera coves to northern sand, lagoons and river pools, and these articles cover the quieter places to swim around the country. The Ionian coast in the south has clear water and pebble bays, while the Adriatic north is flatter and sandier. Our guides visit Kakome Bay between Saranda and Himarë, Velipoja and the Viluni lagoon, the dunes of Rana e Hedhun above Shëngjin, and the lagoon and pine forest of Divjaka-Karavasta. Inland, cold-water swims feature at Bogova Waterfall near Berat and in the Këlcyra gorge on the Vjosa.
